The great switcheroo!

Well, I do not know if I mentioned this in a prior blog BUT my pumpkins turned out to be gourds! No loss though they are all beautiful! It was great fun growing them. They literally grew overnight and fast! I can't wait to harvest the seeds this year too!

  1. They still look cool though! Look at that green one on top. I wish I could grow pumpkins in my backyard--but I don't think it's big enough. Although my husband experimented with zucchinis this year and they actually did grow. One was the size of a wine bottle!

  2. How cool are those! Had to be so much fun watching grow. Love the green pumpkin. Did you actually plant pumpkin seeds???? I only got 4 pumpkins off my vines this year. Just small ones. But they look cute around my mums and scarecrows. Happy October to you!!

  3. Thanks for the comments! I thought I had planted pumpkin seeds, actually I threw last years pumpkins in our mulch by the deck, hoping my husband would not notice until the vines were growing. He noticed, but let it go. He actually ended up helping to water them. Anyway, I thought they were lumina pumpkins or orange pumpkins and gourds they were! Suziestamper, I am glad you grew four pumpkins!
I actually planted pumpkin seeds later and NONE of them harvested! I was sad! Kay , you could prob. grow a few seeds for an experiment... ours grew in the mulch! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
