Decorating!

Well, it is the day before Halloween and I am trying to restrain myself! My mom and my husband know what I mean! I just LOVE Halloween and I decorate more than Christmas for this holiday, but this year I am trying to keep it simple and take it easy. I am feeling anxious today though and contemplating dragging more from storage for a last minute update to the porch and yard! I need to make my tiny cemetary yet, get the fogger and cauldron out and buy a half bale of straw for the porch to hold the cauldron. It will be a busy day! I hope everyone has a festive and fun Halloween!

Thinking of you!

This is a page of an album I made for my mother. This is an all -time favorite picture of me with my mom and dad! We are at the lake we love...now my mom is an ocean girl though. I stay loyal to my lake, mostly because I think it is easy to get to. Someday, I will get back to the ocean again!
I have been thinking of my mom and dad alot lately, so I wanted to share this sweet picture of them with everyone! I love you Mom And Dad! Stephanie

You can scrapbook too!

If you have visited www.octoberpumpkin.etsy.com, you may have seen this scrapbook page. I am adding it to the blog because the image is larger, plus I happen to like to look at the little beach girl in the picture. This picture was taken many years ago, but I still love it! I love the way her hair is blowing in the wind. This page shows how you can use our large stamps for paper piecing on your scrapbook pages. The lighthouse is Cape Lookout in North Carolina and is stamped from that stamp available at october pumpkin.
Please remember there are a few days left yet to enter a card giveaway at www.pelikanbeach.blogspot.com You can enter to win a free card made by the stamp designer, Judith Fogt. Goodluck! Have a great day!

Trick or Treat!!!

This card was fun to make with the Ghost Walk Set from october pumpkin! I believe I may have accidently used an idea from my mother in the design...hope she doesn't get upset! LOL... I am sure it will be okay. Anyway, there are actually three ghosts on this stamp ( and you can see the stamp at the Etsy listing on the right of this page) and I cut one off to make my card. It was fun to make but I should have been making dinner instead ...uh oh!

By the way, HELLO to all the new followers and welcome! I hope you see things you enjoy and you try to make some projects! If you have an october pumpkin stamp project you have made, you can email it to octoberpumpkinstamps@gmail.com and I would love to share it with everyone here!

Where does the time go?

This was a fun little papercrafting project! I didn't use any of my october pumpkin stamps but it was still fun! Last week ,our son, turned 23! I do not know how that could be! Anyway, I was baking a cheesecake for him and chocolate chip cookies when I realized I was having baking failures one after the other. Not one burnt pan of cookies... two! Not one hour to bake the cheesecake...three! I do not know what was going on. I gave up and ran to Graeter's Bakery and bought the last of the cupcakes, thankfully they had some! I felt I had to make them special in some way so that is how the cute picks came to be. It was fun and they were EASY! Try making your own for Halloween!

Seashell Card

Hi again! This card I made this afternoon, figuring I better get a move on since my swap is due next week! Yikes! I start with an idea in mind then I just sit and stare endlessly at my colors and end up with an entirely different card than what I started with. This one began as a dolphin card with turquoise blue colors, now , how on earth did I end up with a cream toned card with a shell on it? It is a mystery! Anyway, please enjoy! The pictures do not capture the pearl of the Bazzil Bling cardstock, but it really made the card pretty!

Working on the card swaps!

Hello! I am working ...slowly... on my card swaps. Fortunately, I can use my cards for Etsy and to swap. Then I thought, why must only one person get to share the card... we all love to see others work, so I am going to put some of the swap cards up to view on the blog! Enjoy! My style is simple so it should not be hard to duplicate this card.

The stamp set is from october pumpkin at http://www.octoberpumpkin.etsy.com/

I used a sandollar punch from Martha Stewart and watercolored the Manatee with watercolor pencils. The textured cardstock and card are from Die Cuts with a View.

Have a great day! I am off to create a new card for the beach swap! Stephanie

Here is my beautiful pumpkin blossom! Now, all we need are the bees and pollination and we will have pumpkins! The photo is lovely, but the sun was not out as promised by the weather forecast, so I do not have the illumination I really wanted in the photo. Maybe another day!

Pumpkin Blossom 2009

Hopefully, today I will get to my garden again and snap a photo of my first pumpkin blossoms for 2009! What joy! In keeping with the pumpkin theme, I have had a few requests via the Etsy store for Halloween and Autumn stamps. I have listed a couple darling and very versatile designs in the past two days. Take a peek! Ghosties will go up later today if you would like to check back. Above is a picture of one listing... it is not a project but it may inspire you to get your kraft paper out and get busy! I joined Split Coast Stampers last week and signed up for three card swaps, so I am sure those projects will soon be posted here for everyone to see. Please venture on over to www.pelikanbeach.blogspot.com the designer for october pumpkin has so many very cute cards and tags posted there! Have a great day!

Dreaming of Seaglass

This was a fun little card that started out from a creative block! Sometimes, I just have to get a bunch of my stash out and sit and stare and then it comes together like a puzzle. I thought I would watercolor the girl but after I stamped her on a piece of watercolor textured paper, she looked so lovely just as she is. She is stamped with Chestnut Roan and the stamp set from october pumpkin is Beach Kids. I roughed the edges of the brown textured cardstock for a mat and roughed the edge of the white cardstock with a razor from Heidi Swapp. They are on top of a navy cardstock that is scored and sanded. The starfish is chalked and is cut from a Cuttlebug die set. The rhinestones are Me and My big Ideas and are the "seaglass", I really liked the look they added! The brown grosgrain adds texture to the edge. I think you just can't have enough different textures with some projects, plus it is fun to mix and match and see what you come out with! Now, I am in the mood to expand my seaglass collection from Lake Erie, if only the lake would melt! Have a great day and visit october pumpkin at Etsy for your own stamps!!

Easter is around the corner!

Unbelievable! I have a second project done today. This one is going to my mother and father's tomorrow for a treat! OOPS...I hope my mother does not check the blog out tonight! This is Pelican Pete from october pumpkin. He is just the pelican. The jelly beans are from a Halloween mini set for october pumpkin. I cut the beans out from the design to make them Easter beans. The image is stamped in Chestnut Roan by Colorbox then watercolored. CELEBRATE is from Studio G and the green tag is from Bazzill. The real jelly beans are from Mike and Ike and YUMMY!

Spring Colors

Hello! I am thinking about the spring colors soon to emerge, I am eager, how about you? Thankfully, March 8 we will have daylight savings time and receive another hour of daylight! This will help me get some projects done I bet! Today I made a card with the october pumpkin Palm House stamp. This is a large stamp fantastic for your larger cards or scrapbook pages!

Other views can be seen at etsy.com- seller-october pumpkin .

I stamped the image with Colorbox Black ink on smooth white cardstock. Then it was matted with a piece of green Core'dinations and the edge torn. The image is watercolored. I used a tan polka dot patterned paper by K and Company for the card base and a green ribbon from Paper Studio. On the palm tree I added rhinestones for coconuts-that was fun! I really liked how the card turned out! This card started out differently. I made an error I had to correct , so I ended up with a much better result due to having to correct the mistake. I cannot believe how that happens almost always!

Have a great day! Make a card for a friend and have some fun!

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

Hi! I was so busy today I cannot believe I was able to make a card...but I did ,Yayy!! This card is made from the Shells and Sand Set from october pumpkin. I will have some other views of the card and stamp on Etsy.com (seller -octoberpumpkin) The view I wanted to post would not load so I will try the Etsy site. Again , I used my Chestnut Roan Colorbox to stamp, I told you I love it! The shell is colored with pink watercolor and layered with pop-dots. The "thinking of you" stamp is from Studio G. Papers are from K and Company and ribbon from Joann's. This was a fun card to make and you can't go wrong with the beach all year long!
I wanted to let everyone know that my mother is the artist that designs the stamp image that I use and that I sell at Etsy. I have loved her work all my life and treasure every piece she has ever given me. Last year, we began toying with the idea of starting a rubber stamp company and by the fall eight sets of stamps were designed and sent to be made. It was such a thrill to receive them and use them! If you check us out at Etsy there is more about how the stamps are made on each listing.
I see today I have 2 followers and I am so excited! I hope to get a project a day done for a bit so there is something to come back to everyday! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

Thoughts of warm weather!

This was a fun card to design since the colors are ocean and seaglass inspired! One of my other loves... SEAGLASS! What could be better than having rubber stamps I can use the colors of the seaside to fill in the stamped image! This stamp I love...I think because of the whale! It is from Ocean Sweet Home collection that includes three row houses. This stamp, Whale House, also
is a single stamp for purchase, but you will end up wanting all three! For this card project I used... a vanilla 5x6.5 inch card, K and Company Seaglass cardstock and Bailey cardstock for the tag, Core'dinations sand cardstock to mat the stamped image, Studio G " just a note "stamp
Colorbox Chestnut Roan ink, rick rack from my stash and of course Whale House Stamp from
october pumpkin! You can have your own Whale House and look at other stamps we have at Etsy.com and octoberpumpkin is our seller name!

First Day to Blog!

Hello! I am Stephanie and I am BRAND new to blogging! It looks so fun and I enjoy so many other blogs that I am going to take the plunge and try it myself! Bear with me over the next few weeks as I try to create a more polished look!

My mother and I have a new rubber stamping business so that will be the focus of my posts and I hope to get many fun project pictures posted!

I also am a lover of all things paperart! So, I will be adding many of my favorite sites and things to my blog! It will be hard not to let my lists grow as my internet favorites do but I will try to edit!

Wish me luck and I hope we enjoy my blog together as time passes! Stephanie
